Craftcore’s Getting an Upgrade: Site Redesign and Recategorization Project

Excuse the paint splatters: site design underway!

What’s going on at Craftcore? Craftcore is currently being redesigned to make it easier to browse. If you’ve been browsing the blog recently, you may have noticed that my site has been pretty slow to load. The front end was slow, the back end was slow: I’m talking unbearably slow! Craftcore has been around since 2012, and I’ve always been on WordPress, applying the latest updates. But I think over the years, I had turned off and on so many plugins that my database was completely bloated. I decided last night that I couldn’t take it any longer, and Craftcore needed both a new visual look AND a backend face lift.

I was able to backup all my posts and images, so content wise, everything is back up and running already. I’m taking this golden opportunity to re-categorize all my posts under broader categories and utilize the tags to sort them into sub topics. There were so many categories, and many of those categorize I no longer update. I think this tagging method will make it easier to find related posts you may be interested in.

Throughout today and the rest of the week you may notice little changes as I get everything ready. If you have any feedback or find any bugs, please let me know in the comments. Thank you for your patience!
