I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect envelope template to make cardstock envelopes for my wedding, but I hadn’t been able to find the perfect shape. While adventuring on Pinterest, I discovered the Craftastic Envelope DIY project by Never Homemaker. This blog inspired me to look at the envelopes from cards I’ve received and use them as a template to recreate their adorable shapes.
Take an envelope you love and carefully rip it apart.
Trace the envelope onto the wrong side of a piece of cardstock. Since this one was a demo, I put folding guides on it, but on the real thing, you would not want to draw these on if you are worried about the professionalism of the inside of your envelope.
Cut out your template!
Fold the two side flaps towards the centre.
Fold the bottom upwards. Get kitty approval.
It’s looking more like an envelope now, isn’t it?
Using double-sided tape or glue, carefully attach the bottom flap to the side flaps.
Ta da! I taped a little stamp shape in the corner for cuteness’ sake.
I made my envelope in a moss green solid cardstock, but I can’t wait to make this envelope shape on a patterned cardstock for optimum sweetness!
