Using different types of yarn, string, and ribbons for gluing materials can expose your child to new textures and new sensory experiences. All you need is a few different types of string, a piece of construction paper, and white glue.
Cut a small collection of a few types of yarn or string into short pieces, approximately four inches long. To keep the ends from fraying, tie knots at both ends of each string.
I chose to coordinate the orange balls of yarn with the orange construction paper background.
There’s not much to this activity: hand the child the glue and the strings and let their creativity guide them. Keep your scissors and balls of yarn handy because they may be ready for more strings.
